theory with practice, innovation and entrepreneurship
Strategic
Objectives of the FBUST

Provide
relevant quality business education, training, and research to enable FBUST
graduates contribute to sustainable national and global development agenda.

Generate
and share research findings with users to solve problems involving business,
ethics, innovation and technology in order to improve quality of life.
(3)
Provide
a conducive environment for learning and enhance efficiency of operations in
the faculty of Business Studies.
(4)
Strengthen the FBUST governance and prudent management of human resources in order to satisfy
customers and stakeholders requirements.

Establish
mutually beneficial partnerships that provide opportunities and innovative
ideas for sustainable study, research, outreach and infrastructure development
for the Faculty of Business Studies.

The Faculty of Business
Studies has currently two departments each headed by a chairman of the
department namely; Business Administration headed by Dr. Isaac Micheni Nkari
and Management Science headed by Joseph Masinde Wabwire
The programmes offered in the faculty range
from the Certificates, Diplomas, Undergraduate and Doctorate. The programmes
are taught by highly qualified and experienced Faculty who are specialists in a
wide range of business fields. The Faculty of Business Studies offers a wide
range of academic programmes carefully developed to satisfy the academic and
development needs of our students. We have also continued to review our
programmes in order to meet the emerging market needs. We strive to make the
Faculty of Business Studies of Chuka University a world Class Business School.
Faculty of Business
Studies of Chuka University is indeed an exciting place to study and grow. We
have incorporated entrepreneurship in all our programmes and this prepares our
students to fit in well as employees in both private and public organizations
as well as job creators as entrepreneurs. We have a peaceful and conducive
learning environment and as our students leave after their studies they are
well prepared to fit in today’s job market. This is due to the practical and
applicability aspect that we have taken in teaching and the learning
environment with dedicated and talented Faculty Staff. Our students also go
through industry experience during the industrial attachment experience and relevant
academic trips in the industry.
Research and Outreach
Programs
Research
and outreach programs in the faculty focus on the areas of; Business start-ups,
growth and sustainability, creativity, innovation and technology, sales and
marketing, human resources management, entrepreneurship and sustainable
development through financial management and good ethical business practices.
The faculty is also a
center for KASNEB professional courses and examination. The candidates who
register for KASNEB examination from the faculty receive tutorials from faculty
staff and enjoy our rich library resources.

Co-operatives Management, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management,
Insurance and Risk Management, Marketing, Management Science, Purchasing and
Supplies Management.
